Call me Moody.
I’m just a cis-girl (she/her) with two cats and a lot of cute stuff that I want to share with you. Some parts of my blog may seem mercurial, peculiar, or even triggering. Please keep an open mind as I candidly divulge my alternative lifestyle.
I have depression and anxiety, and my experiences with both are a major theme of this blog.
I was diagnosed with depression and anxiety disorders when I was 16 years old, but I have been battling this illness for as far back as I can remember. I am currently on medications that have significantly improved my emotional health. I am not currently in therapy, but have been in the past. While I have personal reasons for taking a break from therapy, I am not opposed to therapy sessions in the future and I highly recommend therapy for those suffering from the same or similar health concerns. I plan on being extremely transparent about how I am feeling in my posts, so this blog may not be appropriate for those who may be influenced by my content.
I am ovo-vegetarian, but call myself vegan for simplicity.
I eat eggs, honey, and almonds. I tell people I’m vegan because it makes it easier for me to find restaurant options and make dinner plans with others. I am not ready to eliminate eggs from my diet. I always buy cruelty-free products when I can, and I do not ever purchase clothing or accessories that are made from animals. I do own and wear animal items that were gifts. Others who attempt a vegetarian/vegan diet and lifestyle know it can be difficult to altogether maintain a 100% cruelty-free life, but I am trying my best! PLEASE DON’T SEND ME DEATH THREATS IF I POST SCRAMBLED EGGS OR WEAR LEATHER BOOTS I GOT FOR CHRISTMAS A LONG TIME AGO LOL.
I do not consider myself
a witch or neo-pagan, but I am interested in the principles. (Actually, I DO consider myself a witch now!)
I don’t fully follow any one religion or spiritual path. I adhere to many superstitions and positive religious teachings, even if some people believe that they are contradictory. I am interesting in modern witchcraft because I agree with the feminist ideals, proximity to nature, and divination as a practice. I am still learning about the guiding principles behind meditation, reiki, crystal healing, and chakra balancing. Please bare with me on accuracy as I record my explorations of these and other popular holistic healing methods. At this time, I have no intention of trading professional medical counsel for holistic practices — instead, I aim to combine them and spirituality in order to combat my disease in a way that feels right to me.
I bought business cards before I registered the domain name. I wanted to create the most basic portfolio on Miss Moody Lilac to share my various interests, and showcase the types of posts this blog will contain. I hope that you enjoy getting to know me, and continue to join me on a journey to well-being. There is a lot more to come.
